In the July issue of ONdrugDelivery magazine, SHL Advantec Vice President of Commercial and Technical Services Gilbert Fluetsch talks about the establishment SHL Advantec and the advantages it brings to SHL Medical’s global supply strategy.
SHL Advantec is an extended entity of SHL Medical’s in-house tooling and automation capabilities. The two teams were joined by SHL Medical's previous acquisitions – LCA Automation, SMC Mould Innovation, and Superior Tooling – as part of a strategic move to enhance SHL Medical's global network of advanced production capabilities for medical device manufacturing, including the Molly autoinjector production.
In the interview, Fluetsch explains how SHL Advantec’s modular equipment strategy for medical device injection molding, testing, and assembly meet both high and low-volume drug device production demands. He also explains how the combined expertise from its sub-brands increases opportunities in industries other than medical device manufacturing.
